How to Promote your Business when you do not have a Website.

Have you recently created or acquired a business or enterprise?  Do you want to promote your services and keep in touch with your clients and customers in an informal but effective way?

1. Social Media

You have probably seen those posts on Facebook and Instagram that appear in your news feed.  While some of them can be slightly annoying, occasionally something captures your attention. With some quality content, these paid ads can increase your traffic and result in positive engagement.

2. Flyers or Brochures

3. Direct Email

Marketing your product or service via direct email marketing has many advantages.  With quality content and a killer email subject line, you may manage to grab some attention.

Unlike Direct Mailing (the Snail Mail kind) you do need to have a list of email contacts, so unless you have a developing database this may have to wait until you are more established. If you do have a burgeoning list of potential clients and customers at your disposal, then go for it!

4. Business Cards

Business cards are a must.  The hard copy version, not the virtual. They are relatively cheap to produce.  There are many printing companies who will print you 250 business cards for the cost of a glass of fine wine.

Keep it simple. If you can’t think of a business name at the start, have them printed with your name and your contact details.

Then…schmooze.  When someone asks you at a party or gathering “what do you do?” Hand them a card.  One, they will always remember your name and two, they (or their friends and family) might just have a need for a dog washer; a copywriter;  or a pest controller.

5. Be a Part of Your Community

Do you have a local school or sporting club in your area?  Approach organisations and offer to donate prizes for their quiz nights, school fetes or fundraising drives.  Don’t forget to hand out those business cards and flash your flyers around.

Approach your community newspaper or radio station and offer them a story about a local issue. This can lead to advertising at a fraction of the cost of the big papers and media outlets.
